Collection: The Eden River Foundation

The Eden River Foundation is the charitable arm of Eden River Co

When we first started this as a business, we always had on the forefront of our mind that we would use  this to honour our Eden River and help other families, particularly those bereaved parents who have experienced the loss of a baby or child. We have mainly outworked this simply through making and giving away memorial candles to these families for the International Wave of Light on October 15th each year- a globally recognised event where candles are lit to acknowledge pregnancy and infancy losses worldwide.
All year, we save the profits we have made on other sales to go towards the cost of making and delivering these memorial candles with well over 1500 candles donated to date over the last 6 years.
Until now we have been fairly limited in our reach, and have focused mainly on our local area of the Hills District/North Western parts of Sydney. But this year we hope to reach farther throughout Sydney and beyond and have the goal to donate 1000 candles this year alone in time for this years wave of light on October 15.

Furthermore, as a Registered Nurse in my day job doing my Masters in Mental Health Nursing, I am also passionate about perinatal mental health and am beginning the process of writing a grief group program with some reputable psychologists for bereaved parents to be able to attend and connect with eachother after the loss of their child. I’m predicting that this will be a slow and steady process but will keep everyone updated as it begins to take relevant form. 

We are in the process of working with the right teams and government to get official Non For Profit Status, which will allow any donations in the future to be tax deductible so watch this space also, but in the meantime any donations either through this foundation page or on our go fund me will be put towards giving parents the simple but beautiful gift of a memorial candle to light in memory of their child taken from this world too soon. We’d be forever grateful for your support.
